2025-2026 ‘Patriots’ Pen’ competition. Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. Week of October 6th-10th, 2025. Parent-Teacher Conferences: Students are dismissed at 1:05 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday, and on Wednesday, students are dismissed on a Modified Minimum Day at 12:15 pm. 
Mountain High School:  Wednesday, 10/1: Modified Minimum Day Dismissal; Rim High School Tuesday, September 30th: Scots University’s College Admissions Night-Students & Families 6 pm RHS Library. Wednesday, 10/1: Modified Minimum Day. RHS Math Tutoring: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:20 pm - 3:20 pm; Please note: Transportation will not be provided. Mountain Transit is available for students traveling to Lake Arrowhead and Crestline. Pick-up time: 3:30 pm
Page 6: Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate: Veterans of Foreign Wars-VFW 2025-2026 Competition. "VFW made it possible for me to go to college"-Rachel, 2020 Prize Winner. Patriots Pen Post 264; Application deadline is October 31, 2025. Eligibility: Students must be lawful U.S. permanent citizens or have applied for permanent residence (for which the application has not been denied) and intend to become a U.S. citizen at the earliest opportunity. The Patriot's Pen is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Be enrolled by the October 31st deadline. Submit a 300-400-word essay. This special event is designed to help you better understand the college admissions process and provide an opportunity to get your questions answered. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your options or preparing to apply, this evening will provide you with valuable insights and support as you plan for the future. Tuesday, September 30th, at the RIM High School Library at 6:00 pm. All parents and students in grades 9-12 are welcome! What are the requirements for College Admissions? When ARE the application deadlines? What should I include on my college application?   What are the Admission Boards looking for? How do I build a mind-blowing college resume? Page 9: Free Electronic Waste Recycling Event. Drop off your Ewaste at: Rim of the World High School. Located at 27400 State Hwy 18, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92325. On October 4th, Saturday, from 9 am to 3 pm. This is a fundraising event hosted by Rim of the World High School PTSA. PTA-"every child, one voice". Proof of CA residency required. Items accepted: Computer monitors, television sets, PC systems, laptops, copiers, scanners, Fax machines, Toner Cartridges, UPS, Cellular Phones, PDA's, power supplies, mainframe units, networking equipment, circuit boards, VCR/VCD/DVD players, home entertainment systems, phone sets, lav testing equipment, and other small portable devices. Fluorescent light bulbs, household batteries, refrigerators, washers, and dryers are NOT accepted. Page 10: The SELPA 3rd Annual Resource Fair is coming up! This event brings together community organizations and service providers to share resources and information that support students and families. Flyer: The East Valley SELPA's 3rd Annual Resource Fair will be held on October 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  There will be music with DJ Beats Mode, Raffles, Resources, and refreshments. SEPLA is celebrating 50 years of IDEA. If you have a superstar with special needs at home, navigating community resources can be a daunting task. The East Valley SELPA is hosting a resource fair to help, offering valuable connections to ease your parenting journey. Attendees will have the chance to explore information booths, connect with local agencies, and learn about services available in our area. This is a great opportunity for families to discover tools and supports that can help students thrive both inside and outside of school.

Page 12: Community Program Mountain Fifes & Drums!-: Students aged 10–18 are invited to participate in this free program, with no prior experience required. Muntain Fifies & Drums want you to join the Corps. Since 2001, our Lake Arrowhead-based nonprofit has been turning history into an adventure for kids ages 10-18. While teaching 18th-century music, history, discipline, leadership, and responsibility. We bring the past to life at SkyPark, Jamboree Days in Crestline, Southern CA parades, and Riley's Farm reenactments, plus unforgettable trips to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia and even performances on the flight deck of the USS Midway in San Diego. Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352. High School Student Tryouts date TBD.  ALL players MUST show proof of SCSN junior girls' "Tryout Membership" ($15 fee) to participate in tryouts.
