Page: From ROWUSD Superintendent, Dr. Paul Sevillano: A Message from the Superintendent: Dear ROWUSD Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,
ROWUSD is pleased to share that ROWUSD launched the before-school GATE Education program at our elementary schools in the late spring, providing an opportunity to support and enrich students' learning experiences. This initiative reflects the district's ongoing commitment to supporting the diverse learning needs of our students while fostering confidence,  innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
When the district was in the planning stages of developing the before-school GATE program, we wanted to expand the measures used to identify additional students to create a more inclusive program across our elementary schools. The district's goal is to ensure that students with diverse strengths, talents, and potential have equitable opportunities to participate in enriched learning experiences designed to challenge and inspire them.
The before--school  GATE program enhances students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through enriched learning experiences that encourage exploration, innovation, and academic growth. The program also cultivates a sense of belonging and confidence by bringing together students with shared talents and curiosity. By participating in enriching STEAM and STEM activities, students are encouraged to expand their knowledge, embrace innovation, and discover new pathways for academic and personal growth.
As we look to the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, ROWUSD is proud to continue the after-school GATE program. We remain committed to expanding meaningful, engaging, and innovative learning opportunities that foster academic excellence, support student growth, and empower students to realize their full potential as learners, leaders, and future innovators.
We would like to recognize and thank ELOP for its generous support of the GATE program. Through the ELOP program, ROWUSD offers engaging, innovative learning opportunities that inspire student achievement and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we invest in programs that inspire excellence, foster innovation, and prepare our students for future success.
